Who we are
Mihna is an internship platform built for students and employers in the United Arab Emirates. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@mihna.ae.
What data we collect
We collect the email address you use to create an account, the profile information you choose to supply (name, university, major, graduation year, emirate, headline, bio, links, skills, projects, certifications), the resume file you upload along with the text we parse from it, and the applications and swipes you make on the platform. Employers supply company information and internship postings.
Why we collect it
To match you with internships, to send your applications to employers, to power AI features such as resume parsing, cover letter drafting, and the assistant chat, and to keep your account secure.
AI processing
When you upload a resume or use the assistant, the relevant text is sent to a third-party large language model provider so it can be parsed, summarised, or used to generate a response. We have contractual terms with the provider that data is not used to train their models. AI output is best-effort and may contain mistakes — please review before relying on it.
Mihna Interview: camera and microphone
If you use Mihna Interview to practice, that product captures live microphone and camera audio/video plus a transcript for the duration of the session. Recording is opt-in and off by default, session data (transcripts, recordings, behavioral signals, and scores) is kept for 90 days and then auto-deleted, and attention/presence signals are advisory only — they inform the report and are never used to score or fail you. You can request deletion sooner at any time. Mihna Interview runs as a separate app with its own privacy page, which has the full detail.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers by default.
How long we retain it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.
Your rights under UAE PDPL
Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL), you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected, to ask for it to be deleted, and to withdraw consent for processing at any time. To exercise these rights, email privacy@mihna.ae.
International transfers
Our large language model provider may process your data on servers located outside the UAE. By using Mihna you consent to this transfer for the purpose of operating the service.
Children
Mihna is intended for users aged 18 and over, in line with university enrolment in the UAE. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
